Porsche and Applied Intuition have announced a cooperation. The sports car manufacturer intends to develop vehicle software together with the Silicon Valley-based company.

With this partnership, Porsche wants to increase its own share of software in order to reduce its dependence on suppliers with black box solutions. "Applied Intuition has been an important software partner for us and will help us to better understand software in every part of the vehicle. Testing may then be done software-based and earlier in the development process", says Michael Steiner, Member of the Executive Board for Research and Development at Porsche AG.

Applied Intuition is a Tier 1 vehicle software supplier founded in 2017 and serves the trucking, construction, mining, agriculture and other industries in addition to the automotive industry. Porsche wants to build its new solutions on the basis of best practices from software development. By using CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment), the software for future vehicles can be integrated and controlled via an off-board platform. A professional toolset supports end-to-end validation - from software-in-the-loop (SIL) to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and physical vehicle tests.
